Head of Engineering

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced technical leader to shape and grow our software engineering team as we scale further and build our intelligent EV leasing platform. In this pivotal role you'll be responsible for our development approach, driving team efficiency & satisfaction, while fostering a collaborative work environment. The rate of technological change has never been faster and you'll be key in helping Octopus EV succeed in this world.What you'll do

• Unite the technical vision and integrated platform strategy
• Own the composition and squad structure of the engineering and technical teams
• Scale team - from the existing four squads - to accelerate delivery and improve efficiency
• Implement and refine agile methodologies with a bias for outcomes over process
• Coach team members to foster their personal growth and career development
• Lead on the use on KPIs to drive continuous improvement in team outcomes
• Champion knowledge sharing and best practices
• Promote a culture of innovation
  
  5 to 7 years in a leading technology role, particularly in fast paced scale ups
• Track record with growing teams while demonstrating continuous improvement
• Expertise with delivering against a wider technology strategy
• History of mentorship and personal development of team members
• A bias for action and getting things doneInterest in sustainability is desirable
• Background in software engineering is preferable
