Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management Office

As Head of EPMO, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of critical programmes and projects, ensuring strategic alignment and embedding best practice governance across the organisation.
In this role, you will:
Embed best practice frameworks, processes, and governance across the Library's Digital and Capital portfolios.
Oversee portfolio performance, ensuring effective risk and resource management, and alignment with strategic priorities.
Act as a centre of excellence for project and programme delivery, offering expert guidance and fostering a collaborative culture across teams.
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Board and Chief Officers, to ensure delivery aligns with organisational objectives.
Drive change management initiatives and ensure the successful realisation of benefits across programmes and projects.
To succeed in this role, you will need

Are you a seasoned portfolio leader looking to make a lasting impact in a world-renowned organisation?, Proven experience in setting up or leading an EPMO or PMO in a complex organisational environment.
Expertise in portfolio, programme, and project management methodologies, including governance, resource planning, and risk management.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
A track record of delivering change and transformation initiatives, embedding best practices, and achieving measurable outcomes.
Certifications in programme/project management (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, P3O Practitioner) and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project and Power BI.
This role is based primarily at our Boston Spa in Yorkshire, with an expectation to be onsite for the majority of the week due to the collaborative and public-facing nature of the Library's work. However, we are open to considering flexible working arrangements, including part-time or reduced hours, for the right candidate.
