Full Job Description

The Director, Sustainability has the overall responsibility of managing the existing international social and sustainability efforts within NTT Ltd. This role is also responsible for managing and contributing to the future sustainability strategy for the business.,

  • Provide leadership in assessments of social impacts, defining mitigation and social management plans

  • Provide strategic guidance to the immediate team in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, as well as other senior managers within the business

  • Act as the organisation's "conscience", continuously championing and developing the ethical, environmentally friendly, and community minded side of the business

  • Work strategically with Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and any other business area as and when required

  • Advise on best practice in social performance

  • Manage client accounts, engagement with project funders, affected communities and other stakeholders

  • Act as the focal point for NTT's CSR initiatives in geography and building relationships with any internal and external stakeholders/community partners

  • Ensure the development and execution of any CSR programme, as well as conducting periodic programme reviews to assess outcomes and effectiveness

  • Ensure that project bids are sufficiently and fully completed and submitted

  • Strategically contribute to business development and winning activities

  • Ensure accurate record keeping of and company volunteering initiatives including personal sustainability pledges

  • Provide coaching and leadership to a team of Corporate Social Responsibility Specialists and/or other team members

  • Stay abreast of relevant research and trends in focus and promoting best practices

  • Drive budget and monitor spend to deliver results in line with planned objectives

    Ability to evaluate and navigate through a large, multinational organisation

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Self-motivated, with diligence, integrity, and ambition

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Gravitas - natural influencer and communicator

  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and build effective relationships

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to provide creative ideas to ensure a positive Corporate Social Responsibility impact

  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing Charities, IPCs (Institutions of Public Character), and best practices for CSR will be an advantage

  • Ability to distil complex information into simple messages and concise communication materials tailored for audience


  • Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Environmental Sustainability or related


  • Required Experience:
  • Significant demonstrable experience of corporate social responsibility or sustainability within multi-national organisation

  • Significant demonstrated experience in a leadership/managerial capacity

  • Significant demonstrated experience in driving complex multi-stakeholder planning processes and cross-team projects to desired results

  • Significant demonstrated experience managing relationships, networks and teams that include a diverse group of people representing public and private sectors, community-based organisations, non-profit and civic leaders, as well as programme beneficiaries

  • Significant experience in building and leading a high-performance team
