But your work won't stop here - among your other key responsibilities will be the management of the external auditing process, and taking the lead in the delivery of the strategic aims of our organisation's financial reporting, engaging with stakeholders to develop solutions which align to current and future business needs. You'll also oversee a monthly review of all accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, and identify, monitor and mitigate risks in relation to financial reporting and internal control.

You should have well developed knowledge of accounting principles, the Government Financial Reporting Manual and International Financial Reporting Standards, and a functional understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning and general ledger systems.

We'll look for experience of month end/year end close, the preparation of financial and management account statements and the statutory audit process. Your superb communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to develop positive relationships with all our stakeholders, and you'll also be an excellent problem solver. Recent experience of working with the National Audit Office would be desirable, as would an understanding of Trading Fund accounting, knowledge of the Whole of Government Accounts process and managing business change.

But we're always looking to improve - just like you. That's why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you'll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need., Closing date: Midnight 27th August 2024.
