Head of Football

The Head of Football is responsible for the management of the editorial team. The role comprises a mix of creative and corporate responsibilities, providing leadership to the team delivering the programs, and collaborating with supporting departments and sports leads within the business. The Head of Football has a mandate to ensure our football programming is aligned with the direction of the sports business and the tone of the TNT Sports channels. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a relentless desire to innovate, with a creative vision & ability to lead.,

• Working with the Content & Production Leadership team, responsible for driving innovation, to create, share and anchor a strong creative vision and to secure execution of all projects assigned
• Will be expected to share ideas and contribute to the strategic vision and direction of both all local productions, and the network
• Lead & motivate a team of Producers, Associate Producers and Directors, driving new content format ideas & compelling storytelling for our audiences. Liaising with talent for live broadcasts, briefing & feeding back on all productions. Liaising with suppliers and 3rd parties to ensure delivery of content to deadlines
• Oversee the generation of creative ideas to support the direction of football programming
• Initiating discussions around new ideas and initiatives and changes to workflows to increase efficiencies
• Working with the department lead, from planning to execution stage, ensuring the direction of the football production is aligned with WBD Sports broadcast strategy
• Forward planning, to provide production & editorial framework for seasonal programming and budgeting
• Collaborate with technical teams to manage equipment & necessary production resources
• Maintain and develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing WBD Sports
  
  Significant production experience within live sport broadcasting
• Understanding of the sports television business, subscription television and sports streaming platforms
• In-depth knowledge of sports production techniques & industry trends
• Strong leadership qualities for managing a team
• Excellent understanding of all contributing elements of a live/recorded tv show
• Experience managing production budgets
• Expectation of working closely with production management
• Continually challenge the status quo, identify improved ways of working and efficiencies
• Willingness to work irregular hours in relation to the sporting event
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
