Head of German (with French and/or Spanish as a second language if possible)

Full time/Permanent

Required for January 2025

We are seeking a well-qualified and passionate individual to join our team as Head of German. The successful candidate will teach German across all key stages, from KS3 to A-Level, with the potential to teach French and/or Spanish if possible. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher eager to take the next step and progress in their teaching career.

The successful candidate should have a relevant degree and teaching qualification, excellent subject knowledge and the capacity to inspire both pupils and colleagues. He/she will have a leadership role and should be able to ensure the high quality of teaching and learning and the promotion of their subject.

The MFL department at Chigwell is well resourced and make use of their departmental virtual learning environment. Candidates should be competent users of ICT and have a keen interest in using these skills in the classroom. In addition, applicants should be able to work well with colleagues and parents and be prepared to contribute to departmental extra-curricular activities, especially foreign residential visits and play a full part in the life for the School. Such involvement is at the heart of what Chigwell offers to its pupils.

We are located in the picturesque village of Chigwell just 10 miles from central London and on the Central Line. Close to the edge of Epping Forest, we enjoy over 100 acres of beautiful grounds and excellent facilities.
