Full Job Description

The post holder will lead the Innovation hub team which will support the workstreams in horizon scanning national and internationally, reviewing the evidence and/or developing the evidence base in partnership with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and Think Tanks. The successful post holder will be able to work at and develop working relationships with national and international leads/ experts/ working groups to support our thinking and decision making and develop the approach and direction of the team ensuring that regional and national work and key stakeholders are encouraged to be active participants. The postholder willhave accountabilityand responsibilityfor the strategicand operational development of the Department/Directorate/Sector. Plans to achievethestrategywillbeunderpinnedbythedeliveryofshorttomediumtermobjectives. Keyaspectsofthisrolewillbeto:

  • Ensurethestrategyisformulated,understoodbyallstakeholdersandis deliveredutilisingall available resources efficientlyand effectively.
  • Ensure the development and management of relevant strategic plans, within the Sector.
  • Ensure appropriate systemandprocesses are inplacetoenable the implementation of the strategy plans in the neworganisations.
  • Proactivelymanage the key risks andissues associatedwithensuringappropriate actionsare taken to mitigate or respond.
  • Monitoringandestablishingaccountability ontheoverallprogressofthe strategy to ensure completion within agreed timescales.
  • Managethewholebudgetaryimplicationsofactivity.
  • Avoidthedestabilisationofbusinessasusual.
  • Manageandactivelypromotetherelationshipswithkeystakeholders.
