Role - Head of History
Salary Range - MPS / UPS + TLR2b
Start Date - January 2025
We are looking to appoint a conscientious Head of History, committed to raising attainment and progress. History is a popular subject at St Martin's across all three Key Stages. At GCSE, History is part of the EBacc qualification and we regularly have four or five classes in each cohort. Last year, 47% of our students achieved a grade 6 or above. At key Stage 5, History is offered in two option groups, with several students going on to study History or related subjects at university.
St Martin's is an over-subscribed, friendly, co-educational, fully comprehensive school located in Hutton, Brentwood. The school is on one site with extensive grounds which also includes a large sixth form block. Our ethos is a non-bureaucratic approach to all aspects of school life, while maintaining a relentless focus on learning and teaching, to ensure outstanding achievement for our students.
