Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Head of Information Governance to join Tameside Council. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and organised individual to lead the Information Governance Team at Council.

The Head of Information Governance will lead the Information Governance function, owning all related policies, processes, and controls to deliver a high a performing service. This role will provide strategic leadership and subject matter expertise to the departments across the organisation. The successful candidate will also undertake the responsibilities of Data Protection Officer.

About You

You will lead the team to ensure the organisation has a coordinated approach to the implementation of Information Governance initiatives and ensure the application of GDPR and other information governance legislation, to ensure the Council remains compliant.

You will be an exceptional leader who will create an environment and culture of continuous improvement, and you will oversee the development and implementation of Information Governance and regulatory compliance strategies.
