Information Security is at the core of everything we do at BHF and you'll work closely with the InfoSec team to ensure the threat landscape is well understood and ensure controls are put in place to protect information assets, and ensure all components of Technology Infrastructure are designed and managed with a 'secure by design' approach.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

With significant previous experience in a technical leadership role, with suitable past hands-on experience to converse at a technical level with stakeholders, you'll be a professional expert in your field, with an authoritative knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Technology Infrastructure.
Able to command the respect of other technical people, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure and architecture, for a similar sized organisation, and will have strong line management and leadership skills for achieving high performing teams.
You'll have a passion for new technology, and the benefits it can bring for customers, with a strong commercial awareness with relevant experience as a budget holder.
You'll have previous experience and technical knowledge of:

  • Cloud and hybrid environments (Azure, M365, VMware etc)

  • WAN, LAN, IP, Firewall, VPN, Wireless

  • Fixed & mobile IP telephony and unified communications

  • Datacentre management, server virtualisation

  • SharePoint, SQL Server, Windows Server, Office Suite, Exchange

  • Application systems (Fundraising, Retail, Grants Management)

  • With an assured, authoritative and confident personality, able to build excellent relationships with key internal stakeholders, at senior level, and with key partners and suppliers, you'll be customer focussed, ensuring customers are central to the provisioning of Technology Infrastructure.
You'll be a change advocate, able to hold challenging conversations at all levels, both internally and with external suppliers, leading on these where necessary, and will be able to drive change and take the initiative, being able to take an innovative approach, challenging and changing the status quo when required.
