Head of IT

Location: One Angel Square central Manchester with opportunity for hybrid working.

Some travel to sites within the Trust areas will be required

Salary: £75-£85k (subject to experience)

Permanent Contract: 37 hours per week, all year round

Start date: January 2025 or open to negotiation for the right candidate

Co-op Academies Trust, one of the largest multi-academy trusts in the North-West of England, is seeking a highly qualified individual to join the Trust in the role of Head of IT.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior IT professional to make a significant impact across 38 academies during a period of continued growth and strategic development.

In this role you will:

- Lead and manage a large team of IT professionals working both centrally and within individual schools.

- Provide crucial support, challenge and training to academy staff on IT systems.

- Ensure technology enhances the learning experience for pupils and the working environment for staff.

-Provide an outstanding, effective and efficient IT service through excellent leadership of a committed and dedicated team of IT professionals.

-Be creative and innovative so we are a leading multi-academy Trust within this area so we are at the forefront of educational IT developments

Experience in developing and managing the IT infrastructure within a multi-academy trust or a comparable environment is essential, along with a proven track record in delivering major IT capital projects and overseeing cybersecurity measures.

This role requires an outstanding professional leading by example, strong team player with excellent organisational skills, a solid grasp of project management, and a broad technical expertise. The ideal candidate is flexible, self-motivated, and prepared to lead and advance our IT strategy.
