- self-gift We seek to appoint a practising Roman Catholic to start in January 2025 as Head of Junior House. The Head of Junior House represents academic and pastoral support for all students within the House and is responsible for all aspects of safety, welfare and formation of the students in their care. This is a demanding and immensely rewarding role where no two days are ever the same. This is a residential role. St Edward's & St Wilfrid's is our co-educational Junior House for Years 7 & 8 students, where every girl and boy feels loved and part of a family. It serves as an excellent steppingstone in preparation for the Senior School. In this family environment the children are at the centre of everything we do; they feel at home and secure, and able to achieve their best. The successful candidate will have a PGCE or equivalent; any relevant subject offered by Ampleforth College will be acceptable. Houseparent's teach a reduced timetable of about half, and many Houseparent's contribute to games or co-curricular activities. We are seeking an experienced teacher who is interested in the formation of young people and in developing a culture of delight in learning within the house.
