Full Job Description

Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual National with British Citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team. The opportunity: Join the Land Ceptor team and work to support the British Army in realising the full potential of its latest Ground Based Air Defence capability and tailoring this capability for the needs of emerging export customers. In either case, you'll be building on world-class design: incorporating new ideas, functionality and technology to deliver to our customers. As the Head of the Launcher Platform Assembly (LPA) you will be the focal point for the LPA within the UK design team, managing the relationship with MBDA Italy and engaging with Italian subcontractors, providing oversight, direction and guidance to de-risk LPA design and delivery. You will act as a key stakeholder and leader in developing the relationship with MBDA Italy, including working with them to ensure schedule adherence, quality, industrial validation, product development, etc. To achieve the above, this role will build relationships with, and influence Italian Stakeholders, both MBDA IT and within the wider IT supplier base, providing a key leadership and liaison role to ensure coordination, common understanding and a prioritised delivery focus between UK and Italy to meet our delivery schedules and Customer expectations., We respect new perspectives and experiences, and we value our collaborative ways of working.   • A highly motivated self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team whilst managing the priorities of a number of varied tasks in the context of a bigger picture
  • A proven track record in delivering and supporting complex hardware to cost and schedule
  • Able to coordinate external suppliers, including acceptance activities
  • A willingness to undertake regular, short duration, European travel
  • Experience with large mechanical and hydraulic system and electrical generation and distribution would be beneficial
  • Ability to speak Italian would be beneficial but not required (opportunities to learn may be available)

    Company Bonus: Bonus of up to 21% of base salary
