Full Job Description

to appoint our first Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance who will develop the

legal, risk and compliance functions for the business. Reporting into the Group CFO and working

closely with the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee the development and

implementation of appropriate frameworks, policies, and procedures to support

the business maintain an appropriate level of risk and compliance. Additionally,

you will also work closely with our private equity owners KSL Investment and

its General Counsel, being the primary interface with the shareholder base,

regarding legal, risk, compliance, and insurance matters.

As the Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance, you will play a crucial role

in enhancing and scaling the legal, risk and compliance operations across Third

Space. This standalone role will see you partnering with multiple teams across

the business, managing everything from GDPR and contract management to ensuring

comprehensive risk oversight and effective insurance coverage. Your strategic

guidance will be key in implementing structured, proactive approaches to legal,

risk and compliance challenges, supporting Third Space's growth and evolving

needs.

What you will be doing :

Lead GDPR compliance efforts, ensuring robust data protection policies

and adherence across the business to mitigate significant risks.

Develop and maintain a structured approach to managing contracts and leases,

including keeping a detailed register and staying on top of renewals and key

obligations.

Create and manage a comprehensive Risk Register, working closely with the

CEO and Finance Team to identify, assess, and report on key risks.

Provide advice to the Executive team and Board on corporate governance

matters relevant to the business.

Guide the Executive team on legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring the

business meets all required standards.

Oversee the Group's insurance programs, ensuring adequate coverage,

managing renewals, and handling claims to meet the needs of the business and

its stakeholders.

Support legal aspects of business expansion, including real estate

acquisitions and club developments, providing guidance on construction,

financing, and compliance.

Manage the company secretarial function, maintaining statutory registers,

filings, and records of company decisions.

Act as the main point of contact with KSL Investment and its General

Counsel on all legal, risk, compliance, and insurance matters, aligning with

shareholder expectations.

Oversee the management of external legal counsel, ensuring effective and

cost-efficient legal service delivery.

Work with internal teams to provide legal support, including guidance on

employment law and compliance training to ensure all departments understand and

An English Law qualified solicitor holding a current practicing

certificate, with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE.

Experience within the corporate, M&A, private equity or commercial

practice group of a major UK or US law firm.

General understanding of UK real estate, finance, commercial, compliance,

litigation, and employment

law and best practice.

Experience of working within an in-house legal department either through

a permanent position or a client secondment.

Excellent written and oral communications skills

with the ability to explain legal issues in a clear, concise, and pragmatic

manner at all levels.

grown and is regarded as London's luxury health clubs. Acquired by KSL in 2021

and with 6 club openings since then, and by the end of this

year Third Space will have 13 clubs in epic locations across London (having

opened four brand new clubs this year) and a further three in the pipeline for

2025, with plans to double in size over the next few years.
