Head of Lending Finance & Investments (10996)

The Head of Finance, Lending and Investment will partner with the relevant Business leaders and the Finance Leadership team to drive a culture of high performance, acting as a strategic advisor. This will involve collaborating at every level within the organisation to proactively identify internal and external opportunities to drive efficiencies and optimise the financial performance of the business, whilst maintaining sound financial control and accurate financial reporting. This will include designing and implementing processes and automation to achieve these efficiencies. To role can be summarized in the following pillars: Financial reporting Always ensure sound financial control and accurate financial reporting. You will have flawless attention to detail, as well as deep understanding and knowledge of all the key financial figures and ratios relating to the financial performance, capital, funding and credit of the relevant businesses. External focus As an extensive subject matter with market expertise, scanning the horizon and bringing in external best practice and knowledge on trends, to aid in strategic decision making on clients, markets and performance. You will play a leading role in shaping the business strategy, transformation and growth. Leadership You will provide thought leadership, inspire confidence, generate excitement, enthusiasm and commitment, with the passion to drive business forward. A highly effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence business and finance strategy, change and performance.

• Extensive lending knowledge within the banking industry, including IFRS statements; technical lending accounting, systems and processes; lending capital and risk weighted asset, lending industry bench-marking
• Strong track record in proactive partnering and influencing the strategic direction to ensure improved business performance in a lending business
• Relationship management and communication: Ability to create and maintain strong relationships and channels of communication with key interfaces. Ability to answer queries on financial and management accounting matters by key interfaces.
• Leadership skill: Ability to lead and manage large groups of people. Ability to engage in strategic thinking, decision making and problem analysis. You are passionate about people, developing their capabilities and harnessing potential. Building high performance teams that constantly evolve underpinned by an environment that is fair, supportive and inspiring.
• Coaching skills: Ability to coach, guide and supervise.
• Business Knowledge: sound awareness of market landscape, general economic forecast, products and knowledge of how the business functions, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Financial and management accounting: knowledge of financial accounting standards and practices, preparation and revision of financial and management reports.
• Risk understanding: Ability to assess, analyse and mitigate risk and a sound knowledge of process and controls.
• Excellent attention to accuracy and detail with the ability to distill complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions
