Full Job Description

This is a key role reporting to the Operations Director and heading the Logistics and Warehouse functions.,

  • Provide leadership to the warehouse and logistics teams in the UK and Netherlands.

  • Create long term plans and annual budgets to be submitted to the board of directors.

  • Work in conjunction with the finance department to monitor and control costs in line with KPIs and Business Unit targets.

  • Monitor performance, customer service SLAs costs, wastage and stock accuracy.

  • Report departmental performance to the board at monthly meetings.

  • Strict adherence to all company policies and procedures in the corporate governance manual.

  • Ensure that requirements as laid down by our insurers are met.

  • Management of the warehouse and despatch functions, aiming for world-class excellence in safety, reliability, quality, traceability, productivity, efficiency and cost-effective operation.

  • Management and control of inbound goods schedule to minimise time and costs of goods in port.

  • Ensure all staff are trained in the skills needed to achieve high standards of safety, effectiveness and productivity.

  • Coach and guide line managers to achieve strategic business objectives.

  • Complete people management activities such as planning & delegation, recruitment, onboarding, wellbeing, absence, conduct, performance, objectives and pay reviews.

  • Establish shift and management cover as necessary to meet customer service requirements.

  • Liaise with the sales, purchasing and quality teams to meet the needs of customers.

  • Effectively implement cost saving initiatives e.g. volume rebates and waste minimisation, and monitor/control and optimise stocks.

  • Ensure the handling, storage and despatch of all incoming raw materials and packed product meet both legal and company requirements.

  • Ensure products are stored at the required temperatures that stock is rotated and cared for in store, and that loading and despatch meet set deadlines.

  • Ensure warehouse processes meet the standards as stipulated in the CCL Quality Assurance Manual and meet all regulative and legislative requirements, in accordance with customer protocols.


  • Travel is required to our site in the Netherlands as and when necessary.

    To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstratable experience managing Warehouse and Logistics teams along with an excellent understanding of international trade compliance and logistics operations. Experience working within a food/ingredient sector is desirable but not essential.,
