Full Job Description

  • Provide leadership of the Maintenance and Support Competency Centre to deliver existing services & develop new services within the functional domain of Aircraft maintenance and support in line with budget provision
  • Define and coordinate IT and business resources to meet specific business objectives whilst maintaining the principles of professional standards, accountability, openness, equality and diversity and clarity of purpose
  • Take responsibility for review of management processes (and decisions) to ensure that they are compliant with the organisation's strategy for corporate governance of IT
  • Ensure that effective controls are in place for internal delegation, audit and control and that the board receives timely reports and advice that will inform their decisions
  • Ensure that effective staffing and committee structures are in place to support the work of the board and that proper relationships exist between the organisation and the external auditors
  • Set and deploy IT expenditure, ensuring that all IT financial targets are met and examining any areas where budgets and expenditure exceed their agreed tolerances
  • Assist with the definition and operation of effective financial control and decision making, especially in the areas of service, projects and component cost models and the allocation and apportionment of all incurred IT costs

    A good level of experience in the delivery of key projects in a couple if not all of the General Management skill sets
  • Significant experience of working in an IT Function and relevant field
  • Significant experience of managing within an IT Function and relevant field
  • Ideally a knowledge of both supply chain systems and aircraft maintenance systems
  • Familiarity with IT trends and good practice

  • The team: You will manage an integrated team of circa 20 people comprising of Project Management, Architecture and Technical build and IT support individuals. You will manage both the activities and budget responsibilities for the team to deliver both project work and production support for the suite of applications and projects within scope for the Competency Centre.
