Abbotsholme is a co-educational, boarding and day school set in a large, beautiful estate on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Maths to join our vibrant team. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher and leader who is able to promote a love of mathematics inside and outside the classroom. The right candidate will be inspiring and relish the opportunity to teach mathematics across all Key Stages including A level.

This is a fantastic opening for the right candidate to work in one of the most unique schools in the country.

Our Mathematics department currently covers the following:

Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4

The two year GCSE followed by our pupils is the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Mathematics (Specification A) (4MA1)

Key Stage 5

The two year A Level Mathematics course followed is Edexcel 9MA0.

Further Mathematics is offered for exceptionally talented mathematicians via Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Advanced GCE in Further Mathematics (9FM0)

UKMT Mathematics Challenges

Pupils have the opportunity to take the UKMT Mathematics Challenge. This is a national competition at three levels: Junior (Years 7 and 8), Intermediate (Years 9 to 11) and Senior (Years 12-13). Success in this competition can lead to qualification for further European rounds (Kangaroo) or the Maths Olympiad.
