Full Job Description

The Head of Mathematics plays a leading role in pursuing the academic objectives of the School, which include an expectation that All students will aspire to high performance.
Good teaching in every lesson, in each class, every day, within a well-planned programme of teaching and learning, is a basic aspiration.

All students will be closely monitored and staff will be managed professionally so that all can flourish.

The Head of Mathematics will be part of the Curriculum Development Group and meet regularly with other senior middle leaders to discuss curriculum matters across the school. They will disseminate this information by leading Curriculum Meetings with other HODs.

As Head of Mathematics, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the teaching of Mathematics, ensuring all students consistently fulfil their academic potential, whilst being inspired by Mathematics. You will lead the Mathematics Department to achieve high academic expectations and to incorporate relevant developments in pedagogy.

Good honours degree in a relevant subject
Qualified Teacher Status

Experience
Strong classroom teacher with good subject knowledge and ability to teach A Level
Potential to progress further
Familiar with monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning
