- Lead and develop the Maths department, ensuring high-quality, tailored lessons for students with a range of additional needs.
- Plan and deliver engaging, accessible Maths lessons that support students with ASD and SEMH.
- Track and monitor student progress, setting individual goals and celebrating achievements, no matter how small.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of teachers, teaching assistants, and therapists to ensure holistic support for students.
- Lead a team of teaching staff, providing mentoring, support, and professional development.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth, resilience, and confidence.
- Coordinate the Maths curriculum and ensure it meets the needs of students with additional learning needs.
As the Head of Maths , the successful candidate will lead a dedicated team of professionals to support children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role involves shaping students' academic progress while working to raise their self-esteem and confidence. Resilience, dedication, and a passion for teaching are essential, and the rewards-both professional and personal-are truly worth it., Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong Maths background. - Experience working with students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) , SEMH needs, or other additional learning needs.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including parents, external agencies, and professionals.
- A positive, resilient, and student-centred approach to teaching. Desirable Criteria :
- Experience in a similar leadership role or a desire to take on leadership responsibilities.
- Familiarity with using evidence-based strategies for supporting students with SEMH or ASD.
- Experience in developing and implementing whole-school initiatives.
