Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic General Manager of Maudsley Private Care who will provide overall leadership and deliver the quality outcomes, values and business results of the venture. The post holder will develop the on-going business plan, ensure the service launches successfully and deliver strategic, operational, quality and financial targets for the service and that quality indicators, national care standards and all other legislative and regulatory requirements are fully met. This role is very different to running a commissioned service because it involves a mix of managerial, clinical and entrepreneurial skills. To deliver the plan, the post holder needs to manage market risk, create an offer, develop a marketing and pricing strategy, build a supply chain, form a team and do this in a way that integrates with SLaM.

The post holder will lead the senior management team consisting of the co-Clinical Directors and Practice Manager as well as work closely with the 40 signed up clinicians.

The post holder will be a dynamic, entrepreneurial experienced manager /clinician and service lead with a track record of launching and managing a new, successful service area (clinically and commercially) and preferably of building and delivering a profitable private business. They will also be adept at working effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to lead new service developments.

Main duties of the job

Establish a culture that will ensure consistent compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards.

  • Ensure 40 clinicians are immersed in the culture of Maudsley Private Care, live its values, operate within the operating policies of the organisation and are on-boarded successfully.

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK as well as substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol.
