About our TeamAt Cell Press, a premium portfolio in Elsevier STM Journals, we collaborate with researchers to facilitate the publication of their impactful scientific discoveries, with a focus on rigorous peer review, ethics, and reproducibility. In support of our portfolio of over 50 hybrid and open access scientific journals, you will actively contribute to advancing science, improving health outcomes, and fostering equitable participation in publishing. About the Role The role is responsible for developing the strategy and overseeing execution of all communications for Cell Press. This includes oversight and operationalization of initiatives of strategic importance and requires proven abilities in people management and relationship building, prioritization and planning, idea and concept generation, and risk assessment in an evolving, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Raising the profile with priority audiences through impact programs that support business strategies while building the Cell Press brand and story.
  • Providing advice and counsel to the VP of Marketing & Communications and other members of the Senior Management Team.
  • Leading the strategic communications team including staff responsible for brand management, thought leadership, media outreach, and internal communications.
  • Building strong internal relationships with other leaders in marketing/communications, editorial, and publishing operations.
  • Focusing on Science, Brand, social media and Internal communications.

    Have 8-10 years of global communications in a public corporation, ideally in scholarly publishing.
  • Have a Bachelor's or BS degree required, Public relations or Communications degree highly valued.
  • Are a strategic thinker with strong business acumen who can understand the "bigger picture".
  • Have exceptional organization skills with an ability to prioritize in an ever-changing, global environment.
  • Possess excellent people management skills - experienced in leading a team.
  • Display highly collaborative approach; excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work across the organization at all levels and influence without authority.
  • Are highly motivated, a problem solver with an ability to think independently, self-manage, and create productive structure during ambiguity.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to deliver recommendations persuasively and efficiently to senior management.
