Full Job Description

"Guided by Christ. Inspired to Service. Aspiring for Excellence"

St Thomas More is a good school (Ofsted 2022) committed to high standards of growth and professional development. The school is popular - always oversubscribed beyond our admission limit - and well respected in the local community. We are a successful school with a large sixth form located near Willenhall, with easy access to the M6 motorway network.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming a new curriculum leader to our already dynamic and dedicated team. Are you an enthusiastic leader who could bring with you a passion for languages to our students and staff?

The successful candidate should have proven experience in leading a department and strong communication skills. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and creative colleague with demonstratable curriculum expertise to join us on our journey of ongoing success.

With a strong Catholic ethos that puts faith, service and aspiration at the heart of its community, our school provides a haven where all can flourish.

The Head of MFL will lead a team of creative and dedicated teachers. The successful candidate will also promote high standards of teaching, learning and achievement in languages. In addition, their vocation as a school leader will ask that they inspire students and staff, fostering a passion for language and learning. Strong communication skills are all important and should be aligned with a strategic vision of maintaining and raising standards.

If you believe that you possess the necessary teaching expertise and proven skillset in areas of curriculum Leadership & Management, enabling you to make a significant impact and lead our Modern Foreign Languages department, we would welcome further time to meet and speak with you.

In return our school can offer you a welcoming and inclusive environment, with a culture of openness and transparency. We value highly the wellbeing of all our staff and offer a number of benefits to support this. You'll also benefit from support, mentoring and development tailored to you, training linked to NPQML and NPQSL and further CPD supported by the diocese and additional local providers. Teachers flourish at St Thomas More, and we offer fantastic career advancement for teachers at all levels.

St Thomas More Catholic School is a very special place. Students are friendly, enthusiastic and eager to learn. Staff are caring, supportive and dedicated to finding the true potential in every one of our students.
