Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us Kier work on the IMRDS (Integrated Maintenance, Repair and Developer Services) Alliance alongside Anglian Water and Clancy, which is Anglian Water's largest embedded alliance. We're embarking on an ambitious and comprehensive strategy that will set us up for the challenges of AMP8 and beyond To ensure we not only meet, but exceed our customer expectations, it is vital that our operational management delivers against challenging yet defined performance, commercial and safety metrics. To achieve this, the Head of Operations role is to drive us forward by leading our operational delivery arm and deliver against our biggest portfolio of work we have ever seen! Responsibilities: WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR? As an integral part of the IMRDS Senior Leadership Team, you'll lead on developing a coherent and collaborative operational strategy and approach focused on our reactive, shared services and reinstatement delivery arm, which drives effective and efficient delivery against challenging objectives, whilst concurrently meeting stringent KPI targets. Not only will you look at the short and medium- term ways of delivering, but you'll also look into the future and ensure we remain industry leading by implementing innovative and leading technologies and processes to ensure we truly deliver the best in-class service across the region. Your day to day will include:

  • Responsible for the operational delivery of the overall programme for the reactive, shared services and reinstatement delivery functions
  • Design and successfully implement a fit-for purpose reactive construction programme to deliver within the cultural parameters set against Anglian Water's programme, customer and quality expectations
  • Manage the resource requirement needed from the Alliance Partners to enable the operations to be delivered in accordance with the Programme Delivery Plan and the Partners Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Management procedures
  • Proactively and reactively manage a team where creativity and progression are championed to develop individuals and team output to contribute to business objectives
  • Play a key and visible role in promoting collaboration to deliver positive leadership behaviour to ensure Operational best in class, efficient and safe performance delivery is achieved
  • Support the delivery of the operational elements of the Alliance strategy to be carbon neutral for 2030
  • Manage the operational programme risk for the assigned delivery areas and allocate responsibility for delivery and resolution with those best placed to mitigate the threat and maximise the opportunity
  • Develop long-lasting and value-added stakeholder relationships which champion collaboration and our values
  • Manage the delivery of the IMRDS works in orders in accordance with the programme and budgets
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing, competency and capacity management against varying work volume demands
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with Anglian Water working groups, advisors and experts to maximise programme opportunity, such as change management, digital strategy, network and customer
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial to ensure operational decisions are commercially viable and to create a cost conscious alliance
  • Deliver the assigned programme of works to ensure the IMRDS alliance meets its regulatory and customer commitments

    Water utility contracting experience, specifically within Repair & Maintenance, Clean Water Networks, with consideration given to experience within Developer Services and Capital Projects, ideally within an Alliance/ partnership contracting environment
  • Engineering or Leadership qualifications (degree level or equivalent) whilst you'll thrive in managing teams and working with senior levels of management
  • High-level evidence of commercial acumen and advanced skill set, having customers at the heart of all you do and enjoy delivering against challenging cost and customer objectives
  • Be able to inspire confidence from your stakeholders by demonstrating your expertise and keeping calm and balanced under pressure
