Position: Head of OTC and PTP Contract Type: Permanent / full-time Location: Slough (hybrid working available - minimum 3 days office based) Why choose DHL eCommerce UK? About the role: Participate in design and ensure implementation of Accounts Payable (PTP) plans and policies to manage incoming invoices and supplier payments. Participate in design and ensure implementation of Credit & Collections / Accounts Receivable (OTC) strategy to minimize risk, ensure timely repayments, minimize losses and economic collection of arrears. Plan and manage all cash in- and outflows in order to maximize company cash flow in line with Group policy, internal and external accounting principles, regulations and compliance requirements. Accounts Payable
- Develop and implement the Accounts Payable (AP) strategy
- Manage the end-to-end handling of incoming invoices (from invoice receipt to payment preparation)
- Close communication with local stations and suppliers to ensure timely approval and payment of invoices
- Ensure implementation of control mechanisms to enhance adherence to standards and compliance requirements, avoid payment delays and double payments
- Ensure smooth supplier payment process following standard payment runs and avoid exceptions
- Develop solutions that reflect best practices and work across multiple business areas/ geographies
- Set targets and KPI and monitor achievement
- Propose process improvements and ensure change implementation to run efficient AP department
- Evaluate and make use of digital tools to increase automation
- Make sure correct task allocation within local team
- Maintain the contract database to make sure all suppliers have a proper contract as well as SCoC Accounts Receivable
- Develop and ensure implementation and adherence to processes for effective credit management Oversee and monitor delivery and quality of Credit and Collections, as well as AR processes to minimize risk, ensure timely payments, accurate recording of transactions, minimize losses
- Design criteria and policies related to credit lines and payment terms for new/existing customers
- Review account status and outstanding balances to prioritize activities for collection and maintenance of customer accounts
- Resolve difficult credit issues, review escalations and oversee timely follow up on overdue accounts
- Develop and implementation the credit policy
- Explore opportunities and recommend improvements in existing processes, systems and methods for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency
- Handle large or difficult credit accounts to maintain positive customer relations and minimize debts outstanding (direct customer contact)
- Oversee and review accuracy of payment processing and application to customer balances in the Accounts Receivable ledger, including reconciliation of cash payments
- Maintain the contract database to make sure all customers have a proper contract and/or credit application NWC (net working capital)
- Plan and monitor NWC/OCF for company including AR, AP, DSO, DPO, other assets/liabilities
- Monthly reporting of NWC/OCF variance analysis, monthly update of NWC and cashflow forecast Leading a team of c.40. Develop team and ensure high engagement and motivation. Actively contribute to EOS activities. The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Accountant, probably ACA or CIMA (or equivalent)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
- 15+ years post qualification experience (logistics experience desirable)
- Ability to present complex information in a clear & impactful way
- Proven track record of building rapport and effectively influencing /challenging senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with ability to improve engagement via alignment to company culture & values
- Ability to identify risks and opportunities and set right priorities
