This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Patient Safety Team at MTW.
Applications are invited from experienced, dedicated and innovative individuals, who are passionate about improving patient safety.
The Head of Patient Safety is responsible for the oversight and management of a centralised patient safety team and the operational management of the roll out of PSIRF and local patient safety improvement plans.
They will provide strong leadership to senior management ensuring, that effective management and performance systems are in place relating to Quality & Patient Safety.
We have an ambitious delivery plan covering key areas of Safety Culture, Data & Insight, Patient Safety Frameworks, Professionalism, Delivery of Safe Patient Services, Shared Learning and Leadership and Governance. The successful post holder would be a core part of the team involved in the delivery of this plan.
The post holder will participate in training to ensure they are fully trained in the national patient safety syllabus, ensuring that MTW is equipped with dedicated highly skilled patient safety professionals, helping to provide consistency across the organisation with the ICB and national best practice in our approach to patient safety., They will lead and manage the team in the development of key patient safety systems and processes. They will co-ordinate the Trusts patient safety investigation processes and central investigation team model ensuring processes are effective, and that PSIRF standards are met and that patient's / families are engaged with in a compassionate and timely way.
They will ensure patient safety assurance meetings are effective. Ensuring their respective governance reports and data flows effectively from ward to board to allow patient safety information to be accessible in a way that allows trends and learning to be identified and acted on with ease.
The post includes being jointly responsible for raising the profile of Patient Safety within the organisation, providing a visible presence.
