Full Job Description

Are you a HR pro with exceptional knowledge, enthusiasm about modern people practices, and the desire to ensure management teams are equipped and able to be the best that they can be?

Our people team keep everything grounded at The Ned (literally, as we're in the basement). We're responsible for making The Ned the best place to work in hospitality, focussing on our four pillars of survival factors, advocacy, team experience, and building careers.

We don't like holding hands or telling people what to do, instead we focus on enabling our managers to be brilliant and offering strategic support to the senior teams., Reporting to our People Director and as the leader of our people partnering function, you will:

  • Partner with our executive committee and senior heads of department on all people matters, focussing on a culture of accountability and high performance

  • Lead our People Partner and People Coordinator, working collaboratively to drive efficiency, manager and team self-service, data reporting, and digitising our people processes

  • Work with your Head of Talent peer and their team to ensure we have robust talent, succession, and performance processes and that all heads of department are bought into our culture of high-performance working

  • Deliver our engagement strategy through regular surveys and ensure that managers are ready to act on feedback, so that we have a culture of continuous improvement

  • Own all policies and procedures for the business, keeping abreast of all employment legislation changes and ensuring that we always remain compliant

  • Ensure that our employee relations processes are strong but fair and aligned with our progressive culture, building manager confidence through coaching and engagement

  • Use data insights to improve our processes and provide insights for future workforce planning, including monthly reporting to the executive committee and heads of department

  • Utilise your strong commercial awareness to ensure our people strategy is always delivering for the needs of the business, taking action on improving areas where we're falling short

    A strong commercial focus and the desire to constantly showcase the people function as progressive and an integral part of the business - not "just HR"

  • A speedy thinker and acter who will get into the detail but draw conclusions efficiently and quickly

  • The ability to balance the operational with the strategic, keeping up with day-to-day support needs whilst making progress towards our short and long term people goals

  • You're all about the relationships and will easily get to know people, confidently influencing senior leaders in their people decision making

  • You have unquestionable knowledge of the employee relations landscape and are always improving and learning, preferably with membership of CIPD

  • A culture pro, you'll know all about how HR is changing and what best practices are for developing strategy further
