Full Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Leader to join us as Head of Regional Change and form part of our Senior Leadership team in Yorkshire and the North East. Within this role, you will be leading on transforming the way we work, making significant changes to the way we contract and deliver our responsibilities of operating and maintaining the major road network. You will be leading and managing organisational change, ensuring our people and those who work alongside us are highly effective and efficient in the work they deliver. This role can be based from our Darlington, Leeds or Wakefield office.

  • Accountable for embedding and sustaining required changes into the region.
  • Plan, deliver and implement new regional contract arrangements to the agreed timetable. Maintain all existing and interim contract arrangements to ensure seamless transition
  • Work with the Regional Leadership Team to deliver a planned, consistent and assured regional programme. Ensure the programme aligns with other programmes and portfolios of work; and corporate, technical and specialist standards.
  • Proactively champion engagement and collaboration with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders to drive understanding, maintain alignment with regional activities and resolve conflicting goals, priorities and timescales
  • Work collaboratively with business partners to ensure that the project and programme plans to initiate contract changes are developed and maintained to enable optimised delivery in line with the agreed strategy.
  • Lead all change project and programme reporting and management information ensuring visibility of progress and performance by the Regional Leadership Team, Operations Senior Management and Business Partners

    Proven ability to lead, engage and inspire a diverse range of teams toward a shared vision and ways of working
  • Excellent influencing and communicating skills to effectively engage key internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate experience of delivering large scale change programmes
  • Experience in leading and managing business change and associated risks and issues
  • Relevant programme delivery skills, gained from extensive experience working in a project or programme management environment

    External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
