Full Job Description

Baylis Court School is a popular and oversubscribed school for girls aged 11-18 in Slough, Berkshire. We are seeking to appoint, from January 2025 or before an exceptional Head of Religious Education to join our fantastic community.

Our students are polite, confident and highly motivated. They enjoy school, love learning and are driven to accomplish excellent results. Our "Good" Ofsted reports are not only a tribute to their ambition, but to the commitment of our teaching staff.

You will find a refreshingly collaborative culture here, underpinned by mutual respect and trust. The Principal and Senior Leadership Team are visible, positive and proactive. Staff enjoy working at Baylis Court where they are recognised and valued, enjoying personalised professional development that is tailored to each individual's interests and aspirations.

The successful candidate for this post of Head of Religious Education will demonstrate commitment to their professional development, innovation in relation to their subject specialism as well as the ability to challenge students of different abilities to include the most able. They will be an outstanding classroom teacher in their career to date with evidence of successful teaching and a commitment to the wider life of a school. You will be able to demonstrate leadership of a department or wanting to pursue the next step to leadership.

The person appointed will be given full support in their career development as we believe that development of staff is a key aspect in raising standards for our students.

If you believe that you are the right person for this role, we look forward to hearing from you.

We also offer a forward-thinking Employee Assistance Programme, Medical Cash Plan, Wider wallet Benefit Hub, Cycle to Work and eyecare vouchers no lesson cover and generous non-teaching time allocation. Since we're close to the centre of Slough, travel connections are first-rate, with the M4 within easy reach and the mainline rail station.
