Full Job Description

  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing SHE strategies, policies, and objectives to align with business goals. This includes managing a team of SHE professionals to ensure effective SHE governance and operational support
  • Implement SHE management systems (aligned with standards like ISO45001 and ISO14001) and lead innovative SHE change programmes, focusing on improving risk management and driving continuous improvement
  • Ensure the business complies with all relevant legal, regulatory, and company-specific SHE requirements. Oversee regulatory engagement and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and stakeholders
  • Work closely with senior business leaders and Line Managers to integrate SHE into business processes, ensuring SHE considerations are embedded in strategic and operational decision-making
  • Oversee the deployment of robust SHE assurance programmes to monitor compliance, performance, and risk management, providing regular reports on SHE effectiveness
  • Lead and develop a team of SHE professionals, ensuring talent is effectively managed and developed and resources are deployed optimally. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practice sharing across the function and wider business

    Degree in SHE Management or related field or proven leadership in SHE roles within large organizations
  • Recognized SHE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing or similar sectors
  • Knowledge of international SHE standards (ISO45001, ISO14001)
  • Expert in SHE with experience implementing best practices in large organizations
  • Experience in influencing senior leadership to integrate SHE strategies into business
  • In-depth understanding of business operations, external influences
  • Proven experience in leading and developing SHE teams, optimizing resources and talent
  • Ability to align SHE initiatives with business goals for continuous improvement and compliance
  • Experience in delivering sustainable SHE improvements
  • Desirable:
  • Chartered Membership of a Professional SHE Body (e.g., IOSH - Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent)
