Head of Sourcing

The Head of Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy for Sellafield Ltd, and to ensure a consistent, efficient, and legally compliant supply of goods, works and services that meet the company's quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The Head of Sourcing will lead a team of sourcing professionals and work closely across the commercial teams to align sourcing strategies with overall business goals.,

• Develop and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and goals.
• Ensure efficient, legally compliant and value add sourcing processes are in place and effectively rolled out across all procurement exercises.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best possible terms for the company.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve cost reduction targets.
• Monitor and report on sourcing expenditures and savings achieved.
• Collaborate across the relevant functions to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
• Continuously evaluate and improve sourcing processes and systems to increase efficiency and
• effectiveness.
• Implement best practices and cross-industry standards in sourcing operations.
• Drive initiatives to enhance the overall sourcing function.
• Participate as required in cross-functional teams and projects to support company objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the sourcing team to enhance their skills and performance.
• Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and evaluations.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

  Detailed knowledge and experience of regulated procurement, either under the current Public Contracts Regulations or Utilities Contracts Regulations.
• Experience of building and leading a high performing sourcing or procurement function including pipeline management, lean processes, standardisation and innovation.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of the changes being introduced by the Procurement Act 2023, insofar as they relate to public bodies including risks and opportunities brought about by the new regime.
