Full Job Description

The Head of Service will play a key role in providing strong and inspirational leadership to the Children and Young People Services as part of an integrated approach across the Borough working in partnership with key stakeholders across the Children and Young peoples spectrum. The post holder will be expected to support their team, department, and organisation to achieve the organisations values in their day-to-day work.
The Head of Service will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, outcome focused services that meet the needs of the local population. The post-holder will lead the successful delivery and continuous improvement of the service to achieve agreed KPIs including the management of delegated budgets.
Individual will have effective staff management skills, and a strong, compassionate, strengths based, and transformational leadership approach to instill the organisations values and develop the integration of Children and Young People Services supported with effective transition as part of an approach to caring for children, young people and their families within the Coventry and Warwickshire.
The post-holder will provide effective, visible leadership, this includes leading locality-based teams and will therefore be expected to be work at various sites.

This strategic and partnership approach will be vital within this role to achieve quality integrated care. The Head of Service will have a leadership role and therefore work closely with the General Manager, Service Managers and Team Leads and staff groups within services, to represent the Trust as appropriate.
The Head of Service will support the delivery of a programme of change for the benefit of children, young people their families, and staff, including fostering positive relationships with partner agencies including Social Care, Primary Care, Childrens Centres, Education, Schools and Mental Health Services and the Voluntary and Community sector.
The postholder will provide robust and supportive operational management to the children and young people teams across the service to ensure the delivery of agreed priorities, that there is effective rostering and staff management, and deliver agreed KPIs.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of delegated budgets, cost effective use of resources, and the achievement of agreed cost improvement programmes.
The post-holder will be responsible for the accurate input/collation of data and service quality and delivery to meet the requirements of the contract.
