Full Job Description

The individual filling this role will be responsible for providing holistic financial, strategic, and analytical advice and support to the R&B Finance and R&B Executive leadership teams. The role will be critical in achieving the short- and long-term financial and strategic objectives of the Risk & Broking segment and actively shape strategy and strategic plans, support execution of strategic initiatives, and track execution success.,

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Head of Finance for Risk & Broking and President of Risk & Broking through thoughtful analysis of financial and operational data, forward-looking trends that drive actionable decisions, as well as options and recommendations for decision-making.

  • Work with Finance and Business leadership to proactively identify and help solve performance issues. Regarded as a key contributor in shaping the long-term business strategy to drive superior performance in revenue growth, profitability, and working capital management.

  • Strategic Planning: Coordinate the financials of the strategic plan for R&B in close collaboration with business leaders and their respective Finance leaders and business partners. Own the R&B financial model and global roll-up of Geography and line of business submissions and oversee development of business cases for strategic initiatives and assess short- and long-term impact on revenue growth and profitability.

  • Establish process and common metrics to develop, approve, and coordinate the tracking of execution of in-year and multi-year investment plans. That includes:

  • o Work with the business to develop investment business cases,
    o Secure funding and snr leadership / SAC approvals,
    o Lead interactions with the WTW investment committee,
    o Quarterly reporting across all investment cases for senior management and board of directors.
  • Strategic Projects and M&A: Serve as a program and finance leader on strategic initiatives that impact R&B globally such as inorganic/M&A/divestitures or partnership initiatives, investment opportunities, and operational improvement initiatives.

  • Transformation / Continuous Improvement: Oversee development of business cases [and ongoing financial oversight to achieve in-year and longer-term efficiency targets including securing appropriate funding and senior leadership approvals (includes the ongoing monitoring and tracking of financial benefits).

  • Quarterly result analysis: Support development of quarterly results analysis including preparation of materials for QBRs, quarterly earnings and investor Q&A, as well as board materials and analysis; specifically assessing and measuring the impact of strategic investments and initiatives on quarterly results.

  • Analysis of performance gaps and support development of action plans to achieve R&Bs growth targets in-year and long-term.

  • Drive strong coordination and collaboration across Finance, Operations, and Business leadership to achieve R&Bs growth targets in-year and long-term.

    Strong experience either in Strategy, Strategic Finance, or Corporate Finance.

  • Deep understanding of the Risk & Broking industry to drive sound financial support, reporting and analysis as well as exposure and/or ability to understand different commercial models.

  • Strong Financial, Analytical, and Business acumen as evidenced by having roles with progressively broader responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and analytically.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization and with outside personnel; diplomacy, leadership, and confidence are important.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial messages to senior leadership in a succinct and credible manner.

  • Must be a hands-on, self-starter with the ability to handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to work within a matrix organization to collaborate with others across segments, geographies, and functions.

  • Ability to interpret and analyse financial data and structure large data sets into easy-to-understand insights and visualizations.

  • Strong ability to work with quantitative models related to business investment cases to drive appropriate rate of return with prioritization focus.

  • Command of P&L financial statements and cash flows to support necessary stakeholder engagement with business leadership to help achieve financial goals and objectives.
