Full Job Description

As the Head of Strategy you will lead the development of strategic plans across the Engineering & Maintenance function of British
Airways. This role will be accountable for developing relationships with leaders from across BA to ensure the Engineering strategy works as part of an holistic ecosystem.
This role will lead in providing executive coaching on the latest strategic approaches to members of the Engineering & Maintenance leadership team to align departmental strategies with the overarching organisational goals.
A key part of our strategy involves risk identification and mitigation, as such this role will be the executive sponsor and owner of the risk
function within Engineering & Maintenance, developing a holistic approach to Risk Management and working with other senior leaders on risk mitigation across BA
As a senior leader in the role of Head of Strategy you will be accountable for identifying, formulating and driving strategic change across our Engineering & Maintenance boundaries, and acting as a trusted partner to selected Engineering Directors and working with leaders from across the business to drive strategic change from ideation to delivery by applying industry leading strategy techniques to enable our aspiration to Build a Better BA.
What you'll do:
+ Lead and be accountable for the development and communication of strategic plans for various Engineering & Maintenance areas, aligning with BA's Director of Strategy
+ Direct the Engineering leadership team to prioritise strategic initiatives and allocate resources effectively.
+ Provide regular updates and reports on the status of
strategic initiatives to Central Transformation Teams, BA
Management Committee and International Airline Group Management Committee.
+ Form, develop and operationalise the Engineering Risk Operations Centre

+ Deep experience in Strategy development & execution skills
+ Problem solving skill set with ability to clearly define problem, articulate solution options and make clear and impact-based recommendations
+ Highly effective influencing techniques with the ability to influence behaviour of senior members of BA with opposing views
+ Strong ability to balance strategic thinking, creativity, planning, project and process management, operations and administrative execution with exceptional communications capabilities and judgment
Your experience:
+ Experience from consulting roles, relevant industries (e.g., travel, transport, aviation) and functional expertise (e.g., engineering, operations, commercial) are beneficial but not mandatory.
+ Educated to degree level or equivalent experience with MBA is desirable.
+ Proven track record in leading and delivering strategic change
