Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to lead our Supply Chain operations within our Maritime Transport Division. Reporting to the Head of Division, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies across each Product Line to optimise our supply chain efficiency, enhance operational performance, drive cost savings, and ensure consistency in approach to all Supply Chain activities, including integrating and optimising our logistics, customs and export requirements.
This role operates within a matrix organisation where day to day operational priorities will be directed by the Product Line. However, responsibility for the development of a divisional Supply Chain strategy, operating procedures, supplier rationalisation, risk management, etc, will be in the remit of the Head of Supply Chain and aligned with group priorities.
Principle Accountabilities:

  • Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of supply chain strategies aligned with organisational objectives, including sourcing, procurement, production planning, inventory management, and logistics.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, minimise costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance.

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for collaboration and improvement.

  • Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained, while minimising carrying costs.

  • Forecasting: Collaborate with sales, operations, and project teams, to develop accurate forecasts and ensure alignment of supply with demand to meet customer needs.

  • Logistics: Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery of products to customers while optimising logistics costs.

  • Risk Management: Identify supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential disruptions, including development of contingency plans and alternative sourcing options.

  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain organisation, driving innovation and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

    Experience working in a senior Supply Chain role within the Maritime industry.

  • Experienced in international Logistics, including customs and export requirements.

  • Batchelors degree in business, supply chain management, related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a service delivery environment.

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
