Head of Supply Chain Risk

With over £1.2bn in procurement spend and a network of 6,500+ third-party suppliers supporting our diverse operations, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring we maintain resilience, integrity, and compliance throughout our supply chain. In this role, you will oversee the supplier risk management framework for the UK&E division, setting and embedding policies, standards, and processes that align with Serco's risk appetite. Collaborating closely with colleagues across Legal, Ethics, IT, Health & Safety, Environment, and Procurement, you will drive cross-functional initiatives to mitigate supply chain risks. This role requires you to lead risk mitigation efforts addressing legal, regulatory, cybersecurity, and reputational risks, ensuring compliance across our supply chain. You will build partnerships within Procurement to ensure supplier risk considerations are integrated into every aspect of our procurement processes, from sourcing to supplier management. Main responsibilities of the role:

• Develop and implement third-party risk management capabilities, processes, assessments, and reporting mechanisms tailored to meet UK&E requirements.
• Collaborate with divisional and business unit stakeholders to address critical supply chain risks, including modern slavery, health and safety, cybersecurity, and anti-bribery.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive supplier risk mitigation projects and initiatives, ensuring robust governance across all tiers of the supply chain.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and provide guidance to Procurement and internal stakeholders on supplier risk controls and best practices.
• Deliver training and promote a shared culture of continuous improvement in supplier risk management.
• Act as a trusted advisor on supplier risk, helping shape Serco's strategic objectives in line with compliance and risk management goals.
  
  Proven experience in supplier risk management within large, complex procurement organisations.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and business levels.
• Strategic mindset focused on continuous improvement and driving impactful results in supplier risk management.
• Strong planning, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
• Bachelor's degree (postgraduate or professional qualifications like CIPS are advantageous).
• Extensive experience in procurement with a demonstrated record of delivering supplier risk management results.
