Are you a curious Head of Technical Developement Programme Manager with an interest in play engineering and its progressive potential? Core Responsibilities This role is a key member of the Play Engineering Leadership Team, under the Product Innovation & Marketing department and will have a dotted line to operations External Manufacturing Leadership Team. Both teams are delivering seamlessly integrated digital user experiences at scale in collaboration with the rest of both the Product & Operations organisation:

  • Working with Engineering colleagues to ensure the development of software & hardware solutions and technology platforms for the complete life cycle utilising the most relevant technology with a dedicated focus on reusability and scalability.
  • Working with Operations colleagues to develop underlying manufacturing and test processes to deliver these solutions and platforms "at scale"
  • Leading a team of technical project managers and being aspiring partner for your team, leading delivery of technology-based elements from concept to the entire lifecycle of the elements.
  • Be a domain expert on managing technology-based projects towards the work, goals, and requirements defined, Lead the projects to deliver within the agreed frames of time, cost, quality, and scale with partners both internally and externally.
  • Establishing and maintaining well-functioning multi-functional teams.
  • Plan and review complex project tasks and activities in alignment with multi-functional domain leads from both Engineering, Quality and Operations.
  • Identify critical risks and mitigation plans.
  • Supervise documentation and change control processes to ensure all significant changes are within time, cost, quality and scale.
  • Fulfil people leadership responsibilities to ensure team is engaged, motivated and performs at their best: e.g., workforce planning & management, utilisation, recruitment, on-boarding, performance & reward management, giving feedback, mentoring, coaching, team engagement & motivation, communications, change management and conflict resolution

    Extensive hands-on experience in consumer electronics engineering project management and delivery in robotics/ mechatronics, mechanical, electronics, systems, or a closely related field.
  • Solid experience in leading a multi-functional team and people in a related field focused on e.g., mechatronics, robotics and/or consumer electronics, in collaboration with multiple cross-organisation teams such as engineering, quality, procurement, and manufacturing.
  • Experience in bringing technology development projects to scale by active dealing with Operations teams as receiving party including insight in manufacturing and test processes
  • Demonstrable experience in people leadership including hiring, on-boarding, performance & reward management, coaching & mentoring.
  • Willingness to establish and lead a multi-functional team, as part of a larger regional team and foster a positive culture, effective teamwork, and collaboration.
  • A can-do attitude, superb communication, and motivational skills.
  • Strong collaboration and partner leadership skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with passion for new technologies and to drive innovation.
  • Strategic and well-rounded problem solver with attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary(approx. 20-30 days per year)
  • Nice to have :
  • Led a team of 10+ technical project managers
  • Knowledge of professional systems engineering practices & standard processes for the full development life cycle, including planning, risk management, and collaborator management
  • Technically savvy and have educated discussions with the team about cost, quality and scaling
  • Having Project Planning Tool experience (e.g. Microsoft Project Plan)
  • Experience in working multi-functionally with internal and external partners
