Full Job Description

The Head of Workforce will liaise with our team of Care Managers (home managers) and the Registered Managers to understand and incorporate the changing operational requirements. They will also manage the Agency Manager and ensure the agency usage remains within budget. Oversee the forecasting and projection for the annual use of agency staff to support the monitoring of KPIs. The Head of Workforce will act as the responsible person "Duty Manager" for overall site management working within the "Duty rota." This would be upholding the title of major incident management coordinator and holding the duty site phone. Other responsibilities include:

  • Accountability to produce shift/rotas for all 16 residential homes, and other teams as specified by the organisation.
  • Overseeing daily shift planning decisions and working closely to meet the organisational needs.
  • Scheduling and managing planning meetings with Care Managers/ Assistant Care Managers to agree future requirements and plan for adjustments to staffing.
  • Collaborate and work closely with all stakeholders across the site to maintain strong relationships. Ensuring a high level of knowledge and understanding about decisions taken within the team for any changes in staff allocations across the 16 residential homes.
  • Work in collaboration with HR and the relevant line managers to ensure all employee working patterns meet legislative requirements and promote a healthy work-life balance.
  • Manage the Variable and Seasonal resource pool.
  • To have overall accountability for the effective management of our Prior Insight system about o all aspects of the shift/rota patterns.
  • To support with recruitment and induction events that occur to ensure the team is included and present where appropriate.
  • Partner with the recruitment and care teams to effectively allocate new starters to teams/homes.
  • Lead any relevant projects to develop the workforce planning processes, ensuring improvements to the system are continually reviewed and implemented.

    Minimum of three years' experience of working within a shift/ rostering system ideally within a care environment at a management level.
  • Management qualification and/or relevant experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Experience of measuring and monitoring KPIs with a good understanding of recruitment practices and principles

    Salary: Up to £46,000 pro-rata, depending on experience Hours: 37.5 hours - This position is subject to a fixed rota pattern, that includes weekend, early morning, and evening working Contract type: Permanent - full-time, We aim to make all staff feel valued and supported with training and a competitive salary along with providing the knowledge and skills needed to do a great job.
