Full Job Description

The Governors of Parmiter's School invite applications for the post of Headteacher of this exceptional school. They wish to appoint an inspirational Headteacher whose leadership, vision and energy will help drive and shape the school's future in line with the school's ethos and values. The school is proud of its commitment to producing well-rounded individuals with a sense of integrity, social responsibility and desire to serve the community.

"Throughout the school, including the Sixth Form, students thrive. They receive an exceptional standard of education. Not only do students achieve high academic success, but they also develop into well-rounded, active members of society. This does not happen by chance. Students prosper, in large part, because they are so well integrated into the Parmiter's family."

Ofsted 2024

The school has a rich history dating back to the 1681 will of Thomas Parmiter, who left property to support the education of ten poor children in Bethnal Green where the original school was founded. It now enjoys enviable facilities, including a fully equipped Sports Centre, Drama and Music spaces, as well as a state-of-the-art Science block in a 60-acre setting in Hertfordshire. It is supported financially by the Parmiter's School Foundation, a charity which owns the majority of the estate.

Applications are invited from both serving and aspiring Headteachers who are encouraged to visit the school. To arrange a visit or for further information please contact Helen Clark, Headmaster's PA - h.clark@parmiters.herts.sch.uk .

Please apply using My New Term (through the school website) by midday on Wednesday 6 November.

Parmiter's School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all members of staff to share this commitment. Applicants must declare any criminal convictions as the post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointments will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service and references from previous employers. We are required to conduct online searches for shortlisted candidates in accordance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance in order to identify any incidents or concerns which are publicly available online. We are an Equal Opportunities employer.
