Full Job Description

If you are an experienced Headteacher or an experienced Deputy Headteacher seeking a more senior post who has worked with pupils with SEHM across either primary or secondary phases this role may be for you. We are currently supporting an established alternative provision based in Leiston and with their journey of growth. The role is offered as a permanent post from January 2025. Initially you will oversee a site for around 12 children. Typically, the site caters for pupils aged 7-17 with SEND requirements such as SEMH and ASD. This role has the potential to become an Executive Headteacher job in the near future with a further 18 place site due to open nearby.
This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners. We are very interested in speaking to senior leaders who have a therapeutic style and ethos. If you are of a similar mindset, we would be very happy to discuss the role in more detail.
In order to be successfully shortlisted in any of your applications with us we will require the following:
A relevant UK based teaching and/or leadership qualification.
Substantial experience working with pupils with SEND within an education setting.
All required documents for safer recruitment processing including, but not limited to a valid right to work proof and a valid Enhanced DBS.
Exceptional references.
Once shortlisted, a one-to-one interview will be scheduled with your dedicated consultant to discuss your experience and personal requirements. This will be followed with an online introduction to a Regional Director of the MAT and a tour of the setting can then be arranged. You will work solely with your consultant throughout your registration journey and beyond, always having direct access to speak with them on a one-to-one basis.
Proposed start date: January 2025
