Full Job Description

Building on our track record of delivering pioneering research we are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to work on projects at EMS Healthcare on a fixed term basis. Our projects are delivered in state-of-the-art Community Research Units across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in ground-breaking clinical trials and work across different locations carrying out clinical trial activities to ensure the successful recruitment and delivery of clinical trials. Join our innovative team as a Health Care Assistant and play a pivotal role in advancing research. You will work in a state-of-the-art mobile clinic that brings cutting-edge healthcare directly to the heart of the community. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research while engaging with diverse populations in their own neighbourhoods. You will be responsible for ensuring clinical and regulatory compliance, such as IMP management, data collection and documentation, ABMP management, Venepuncture, Sample processing, waste disposal and management and Emergency response. You will be part of the Clinical Operations Team at EMS Healthcare and work collaboratively with our other teams to ensure efficient delivery of clinical research projects.

To be successful in this role you will need the following experience and skills:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within a clinical research or clinical trial environment.
  • Competency in basic clinical procedures, such as BP and HR monitoring is required.
  • Experience with venepuncture.
  • Anaphylaxis training and BLS.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in recoding and documenting participant data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures and answer participant questions effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Research Nurse and other clinical staff to ensure participant safety and well-being.
  • Organisational skills for managing medical devices and preparing shipments.
  • Able to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and trial protocols.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial procedures and participant care.
  • Ability to maintain participant confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in research.
  • Basic computer skills. Particularly in data entry and using clinical software.
  • Be able to perform reception duties.
  • Hold a full and clean drivers' licence
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK.
