Full Job Description

Are you looking to start a career in the NHS? A Health Care Assistant (HCA) role is the perfect starting point. Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust has development pathways from HCA through to nursing degrees.

We are looking to grow our care assistant workforce in Eden Ward, a Low Secure Unit for up to 13 women with forensic and complex trauma histories. Due to the nature of the ward and current workforce we are looking to recruit female staff only at this point. This is interesting, at times challenging, but very rewarding work.

At Brooklands Hospital our patients have asked for nurses who: "will fight for them in MDT's to get the appropriate opportunities and support, that listen, that let them be involved in care planning and risk assessments, that have a good sense of humour and know what makes them happy. They would like nurses who are caring and talk to them and give them praise when they do well"

Applicants will need a care certificate or level 3 award in care.

If you think this is you and you want to make that career start in the NHS then please come join us.

For more information on this role please see the attached support information. This will give you a better overview of the job role and requirements.

As a Health care Assistant, You will be required to assist patients with Activities of Daily living, personal care, support leave on site and in the community and to complete observations. You will be required to work closely with the Qualified Nurses and all members of the Multi Disciplinary Team so that assessment and treatment can be completed in a timely manner. You will be assigned as a member of a care team for an allocated individual and will play a very important part in the patient's transition back into the community.

This is achieved over a 24 hour period on a rota system and includes days, nights, weekends, bank holidays (including Christmas and New Year)

Whilst full induction and training will be given due to specialist nature of the service it is crucial that staff have a particular interest in this group. The post holder will be required to provide emergency support to other units in events of temporary staff deficits.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults over many sites across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.

Services are provided to a population of over one million people living in Coventry and Warwickshire and also a wider geographical area in some of our specialist services, we see on average around 5,000 patients every day.

The service received an overall rating of Good by the CQC and an Outstanding for care and compassion of which we are rightly proud. We have also been recognised both locally and nationally by receiving awards for the services we provide.
