Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist

Here at Alder Hey Outpatients, we are looking for experienced health care assistants, to join our friendly team. Applicants must be keen to expand their skills and willing to undertake paediatric phlebotomy. Applicants will be given full training and mentoring., The Healthcare Assistant is an integral member of the clinical team. They will assist and support nursing, medical, and otherprofessional staff in the delivery of high standards of holistic family centred care to children and families.

Clinical tasks undertaken by the post holder will be ratified by the business unit. The HCA and ward manager are jointly responsiblefor ensuring competency. Clinical tasks undertaken will therefore be specific to the speciality, clinical area or patient group.

Experience of working with children or in an Outpatient setting is desirable. We work as a large multi-disciplinary team to deliver outstanding care to our patients in Outpatients therefore experience of working collaboratively in a team within a healthcare environment is essential for this post. For many of our patients, Outpatients is the first impression of our hospital and therefore excellent communication skills are required for this position to ensure patients and their families / carer's are welcomed and reassured.
