Full Job Description

Ward 19 is based at The Priestley Unit, a Mental Health Unit at Dewsbury & District Hospital, Dewsbury and is for the assessment and treatment of varied mental health conditions, usually in adults over the age of 65.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individual to come and join our team on the female side of the ward, occasionally providing support to the male side of the ward. We offer a commitment to workforce development and training, and work very closely with our Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Psychology teams. This allows us to provide a highly responsive service to meet our clients needs.

Main duties of the job

You will need to demonstrate a real understanding of the client group and have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for older adult in-patient care, flexible working, and personal development. You will need to have good communication and time management skills which would enable you to assist in the delivery of outstanding care.

Positive patient engagement and involving service users in their care are priorities for our service delivery as well as ensuring that our practice is safe and effective.
