Full Job Description

The post holder will assist in the provision of care to patients/clients by providing a range of personal care duties as designated by a Qualified Nurse. These tasks will involve direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols, and include basic care duties such as :

  • Enabling patients to maintain personal hygiene through assistance with shower/ bath, washing facilities access and use of toilet facilities; promoting independence where possible.
  • Enabling patients to eat and drink, assisting where appropriate
  • Escorting patients/clients to other departments/hospitals.
  • Keeping up to date with mandatory training requirements.
  • Maintaining a good standard of cleanliness in the ward, including changing bed linen and disposing of clinical waste in accordance with organisational policies.
