Full Job Description

The Senior Healthcare Assistant (Level 3) has a greater degree of autonomy and undertakes a broader range of health and care in accordance with policy and procedures. The post holder will work on their own initiative, undertaking delegated tasks with appropriate supervision in place from a registered practitioner/assistant practitioner.

The post holder contributes to assessment and assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans. They will supervise other staff and promote the delivery of high quality care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to work within the District Nursing service. We have various hours available across Swansea + Neath Port Talbot.The post requires excellent communication skills,the ability to work flexibly and team working to provide qualitycare to patients with complex health careneeds within their homes.The post holder will be required to work a shift pattern of morning and evening shifts to meet the varying needs of the service. You will need to provide a range of skills including delivering care to patients with complex health needs within their homes, supporting patients and their families. Desirable skills include the ability to perform venepuncture, simple wound care and catheter care.The post requires a close working relationship with the Community Nursing Service to ensure that individuals needs are met as quickly as possible to enable them to remain at home with the appropriate level ofcare and support required.

Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
