Full Job Description

Are you a compassionate individual looking to work in an outstanding rated Trust? Rowan Ward, based at Yeatman Community Hospital are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join their experienced team.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be working alongside a multi disciplinary team who provide excellent care to our 14 bedded stroke neurological patients and our end-of-life suite. Our End-of-Life Care achieved a nationally recognised platinum accreditation in the Gold Standard Framework award. Recently there has been significant investment to develop Dorset stroke services including development within our stroke rehabilitation beds based on Rowan team.

We offer a structured induction programme and further career development opportunities after a year of service to explore enrolling on the Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship or the student nurse associate programme, for those who would wish to.

If you are new to care and hold no experience in healthcare, then we offer a fantastic development opportunity with a structured development plan to progress you from a band 2 to a band 3 Health Care Assistant on successful completion.

The Health Care Assistant post is a full-time role, we would be flexible and accept part time applications with a minimum of 24 hours. We have a variety of flexible family working patterns including long days and nights but are open to discuss individual requirements.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high-quality person-centred approach to care delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity and what matters most to the patient.

Assist registered nursing staff in providing high quality individualised nursing care to a clearly defined group of patients, relatives and carers. Work with a multi-disciplinary team to aid patients in reaching their potential including mobility in preparation for a safe discharge and participate in providing a range of therapeutic activities for patients
