Full Job Description

We are looking at recruiting a healthcare assistants who are passionate about gaining knowledge and practice around orthopaedic surgery and care. Notley ward is a fast pace 28 trauma orthopaedic unit whom take from Accident and Emergency admissions as well as elective patients. We laise with ortho surgeons and other health care professionals in order to deliver the best care. Notley ward is a team of diverse and professional people who work to the higher standards of care whilst maintaining a personal and friendly approach. All members of our team are compassionate and friendly individuals all with their own experiences. Working on Notley you will gain skills and training on how to care for patients who are awaiting and have had surgery which require post operative care ans reablement. You will also gain experience on end of life and palliative care and knowledge about both ortho and medical care. Training is provided for those who have little or no experience with the guidance and support of the Notley team. For those who want to further their skills there are opportunities to develop professionally by becoming one of Notleys link nurses in nutrition, tissue viability, sepsis or falls. As a Health Care Support Worker, you will be a hugely valuable support to our Nursing and Midwifery teams providing care to our patients. Every day will be different and you will work alongside the rest of the team carrying out a wide range of tasks and assisting with care to support the needs of the patients and their families. · Examples of what you may do as part of your role · Washing and dressing patients · Serving meals and feeding patients · Helping patients to move around · Making beds · Talking to patients and their families · Monitoring patient condition ·Full time and part time positions are available, and we are open to discuss flexible working arrangements.   • Supports RN in assessment of patient
  • Performs clinical baseline observations
  • Orientates patient and relatives to the ward environment
  • Follows plan of care, reports any changes in the patient's condition
  • Contributes with suggestions and ideas for action
  • Reports results of any intervention
  • Records and documents episodes of care in accordance with guidelines
  • Performs ECG recordings.
