Full Job Description

We are looking for a team player to join our friendly team who would like to thrive in a busy environment. You will have a caring and compassionate approach to patient care and it is essential that you project a smart, professional and friendly image at all times. Working strictly in accordance with specific trust guidelines and protocols, the post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients only as the result of a direct referral from a GP. Full training and induction will be provided to the successful applicant. Here in Hythe & Waterside Integrated Care Team care for clients with physical health needs in the community. We are based in Totton, on the outskirts of Southampton, and cover Hythe & Waterside and parts of the beautiful New Forest. Therefore being a car driver is essential for this role., To provide a high-quality domiciliary phlebotomy service to patients who are housebound in the community. To assist with specific tasks related to patients in the community as delegated by the Health Care professionals. To work with the Health Professionals in facilitating patients access to domiciliary phlebotomy service enabling them to remain at home. To work independently without direct supervision in patients' homes after a period of induction following competency based assessment.

  • To demonstrate Venesection skills to other HCSW's new to the community as part of an agreed training programme.
