Full Job Description

As a Health Courier Service Driver/Storekeeper you will be responsible for stock items in stores centres and also for the safe and secure transport, distribution and replenishment of NHS Pathology, Blood/Blood Products, Secure and Non-Secure Stationery, Laundry, Mail/Records and Stock items such as medical consumables (e.g. needles/syringes/containers) that are distributed to primary health care sites; (Hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, opticians, dental surgeries) across NHS Wales.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed, NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership provides Clinical Logistics Transport Services across all Health Boards in Wales via its Health Courier Service, and is seeking Driver/Storekeeper staff to join this service based in the Torfaen area, serving South Wales.
On average, the service sorts (via its own mail sorting hubs), delivers and collects over 120,000 items of mail/medical notes per week, and transports in excess of 5 million movements of samples of Blood Products and Pathology in accordance with Accord Dangereux Routier, Good Manufacturing Practice & legislative requirements per year. Our core services operates between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. However, we do operate a small range of services 24 hours a day.
